The 2019 H Syrah is deep red with bright purple hues. It offers aromas of violet florals, rhubarb and cherry. Fruit- forward, with fine tannins and flavors of pomegranate, cardamom and satsuma plum on the palate, this wine is delicate in texture and elegant in structure. |
The fruit for this wine is sourced from a mature block in Nairne in the east of the Adelaide Hills with the balance from a block in eastern Oakbank subregion. Both blocks were harvested later in March and fermented independently with an average time "on skins" of 18 days. After 19 months barrel maturation, the wines were racked and blended. 70% from Nairne, providing the richness and density and 30% from Oakbank, offering more perfume and subtlety.
