G3 Syrah 2021

Overview

Our G3 Syrah opens with an alluring mix of blueberry, blackberry, and plum notes beautifully paired with distinctive hints of gamey, cured meats. The palate delivers a rich and juicy density. Layers of black cherry and black raspberry merge effortlessly with the sweetness of toasted oak, introducing profound depth and complexity. The texture is marked by savory nuances, which contribute to a lush and luxurious mouthfeel. The finish is both broad and intensely flavorful, featuring gamey and rustic elements alongside a resurgence of fresh, wild berry flavors that maintain a lively juiciness.

Wine Facts

VITICULTURE:
The fruit for this wine was sourced from many of the premier blocks of the estate.

VINIFICATION: The wine’s extraction was managed during fermentation to create a balance of color, structure, and flavor. Malolactic fermentation on oak smoothed and softened the wine. The wine matured for 16 months in barrels (with 20% new oak).

INTERESTING FACT: Goose Ridge Estate Winery is certified by Sustainable WA, a 3rd party sustainability program for Washington grape growers. Sustainable WA is a framework of best management practices that focus on the three pillars of sustainability; environmental responsibility, social equity, and economic viability. Goose Ridge was one of the first to gain the certification.

FAMILY: g3 is a tribute to the three generations of the Monson family to have farmed in the Columbia Valley for more than a century.

In the early 1900s, M.L. Monson brought his family to the Yakima Valley. He came with a love for the land and the dream of building a family farming business that would continue for generations.

The family’s initial focus was on orchards and cattle, but after talking with Dr. Walter Clore, the visionary behind Washington’s wine industry, Arvid Monson built on his father’s legacy in establishing vineyards on the arid hills and in the valleys around Richland. That became Goose Ridge Estate Vineyards & Winery.

Today, Goose Ridge is one of the most renowned and progressive of Washington State’s nearly 1,000 wineries.
